Christina Marie Aguilera was born on December 18,1980 in Staten Island,New York. Christina's mother is a violinist/pianist and her father is in the military. They have lived in several places including Texas,Flordia,New Jersey,and even Japan before settling in Wexford,PA. Despite traveling,however,Aguilera is no stranger to fame nor has she ever been.
Always having an interest in performing,Christina started her career at age 8,when she appeared on the talent show "Star Search". By the time she was ten she was singing the Nation Anthem at Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins games. Christina really took the spotlight in the early 90's when she joined the cast of "The New Mickey Mouse Club". She stayed on the show for two years. |

During her time on the show,Christina sung "What Child is This" for a Christmas album called "Home for the Holidays". Her next big break was in Japan,where she put out a duet with Keizo Nakanishi called "All I Wanna Do". The song was a hit and Christina even toured Japan. It wasn't until returning to the US in 1998 that Christina really made it big.
Upon her return,Christina was urged to audition to sing a song,entitled "Reflection",for Disney's "Mulan". She did a demo tape,which was a cover of a Whitney Houston song,and sent it in. Disney loved it and chose her to record the song. The same week,RCA Records signed Christina Aguilera.
"Reflection" was a great move for Aguilera. She appeared on "The Donnie and Marie Show" as well as "CBS This Morning" performing the song live. The track even nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for best original song in a motion picture.

Christina did a concert in Transylvania,Romania with many other stars including Diana Ross and Sheryl Crow.
Christina's musical taste ranges from pop divas like Madonna,Janet Jackson,and Mariah Carey to rock bands Limp Bizkit and Korn to rappers 2Pac and Bone Thugs 'N Harmony.
Aguilera got her start in school talent shows.
